Oh em gee!...It's the Outlaw Comet?
What it is-What it is,
I've been hooking up them Feng Zhu (one of my favorite artists) gnomon demo videos for the past few days ago. I think my brain is shifting form not drawing to drawing again.
So, yesterday I set out to try an draw a vehicle that didn't look like shiet or all "clumped"! I did Feng's method mixed with stuff I knew already, with blue lead instead of 10% marker, and black lead instead of ink. And I must say, it was the hardest non-school thing I have done by myself drawing. It's a love/hate thing... I hate how tedious it can be to make a perspective drawing work (It took me one whole day to pump this out!). I love the new info I get from the drawing, writing notes when I draw. Plus when one part of it that works my first few tries I get all happy.
I'm still WAY too slow drawing stuff, and the middle to the end of the ship is off. I think I drew my perspective guide wrong somehow. On top of that, I'm heady handed, so the marker sketch thing might work better for me than blue lead. Overall I think it looks rawcore, with a little influence from feng and Outlaw Star. my thumbnail sketch w/ perspective came out better than 'final sketch' somehow.

my 1st time with copic markers... they were gentle.
Yes yes y'all,
This is my 1st real sketch in a month, it's been soooo long...you can tell I went crazy w/ the markers. Anywayz, here is some tribal funk for y'all to chew on...
I gotta step out and say, copic is the shiet! I copped the brush pen multiliner and two gray markers. Then i went over one of my ballpoint pen sketches I did two days ago. I noticed the copic brush pens are alot smoother feeling than sakaura brush pens...Around here they are about the same price, but the markers are a little too rich for my blood... I'm stickin with my tria's for now.
